Sirens played their final game of the 2022-23 season on Sunday which ended in a 14-2 defeat to the Chelsford Cobras. With the Sirens finishing bottom of the table in the WNIHL1 league, they be relegated to WNIHL2 ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Head Coach, Chris Martin summarised his thoughts on the year “This season was a tough one, the win/loss ratio is not one we wanted to finish with, but there are a lot of positives to take from the season.

The team as a whole has definitely grown. We have become stronger and more resilient, as shown with the efforts the ladies have been bringing to training in the second half of the season, which has been fantastic to coach. The systems we are practicing are improving every game which has shown as some of the recent results were more respectable as we closed the season out, we made our opposition work for their wins.

These are all positives for us to build on and take into next season in the WNIHL2 which is still a very competitive league.”

The Sirens look to build over the summer and get ready for next season, trial announcements will be issued soon, so watch this space!
